The honest answer is that it depends on your walls. This guide shares the market ranges we see across the Valley in 2026.
One thing first. These are broad market numbers, not a quote from us. The only way to get a real price is a free estimate on your home.
What drives the price of stucco
A few things set your cost more than anything else. Here's what we look at first.
- Wall size. Price tracks the square footage of wall, not your floor plan.
- New coat, recoat or repair. A patch costs far less than a full new exterior.
- Traditional stucco or EIFS. EIFS adds a foam insulation layer, so it costs more up front.
- Hidden damage. Water damage or a failing old coat adds prep before the new work starts.
- Height and access. Two-story walls and tight lots take more time and gear.
- Finish and texture. A custom finish or a special color can nudge the price up.
Typical stucco cost ranges in Phoenix for 2026
Here's what stucco work tends to run across the Phoenix market this year. Treat these as ballpark ranges, not a bid.
- New stucco: about $7 to $12 per square foot of wall, installed.
- EIFS: about $9 to $14 per square foot, since it adds a foam layer.
- Full exterior on a single-story home: often $8,000 to $20,000, based on size.
- Crack and small patch repair: often $400 to $1,500.
- Water-damage repair: often $1,000 to $3,500, depending on how far it spread.
Every wall and every home is different. Use these ranges to plan, then get an estimate for your real number.
New stucco versus a recoat
New stucco starts from bare wall. We add the moisture barrier, the lath and every coat on top.
A recoat goes over a wall that's still sound. It skips the base work, so it usually costs less than starting over.
If your old coat is cracked all over or soft with water damage, a recoat won't hold. Then a full replacement is the better buy.
What stucco repair usually costs
Most repairs cost far less than a new exterior. The price depends on how much of the wall is affected.
A hairline crack or a small patch sits at the low end. We seal it, match the texture and blend the color.
Water damage costs more. We cut out the wet section, rebuild the layers, then finish the patch so it hides.
Catching a crack early is the cheapest path. Left alone, a small crack lets in monsoon rain and turns into a bigger repair.
